Conferences & Didactics

There is a robust longitudinal curriculum including thematic didactic series, small group discussions, journal clubs, case conferences, and simulation designed to supplement clinical experiences and ensure training of well rounded and proficient Pulmonary & Critical Care Physicians. Didactic series include Physiology, Immunology, Pulmonary diagnostics, Critical Care, and Ambulatory which change or rotate annually to build over a 3 year time frame. The simulation curriculum is comprised of monthly sim sessions focusing procedural skills/techniques, point of care ultrasound, and clinical scenarios.

There are several educational and research conferences that occur each week including Pulmonary Grand Rounds in which invited expert speakers give talks, Research in Progress, ICU Case Conference, Chest ID Conference.

Fellows also actively engage in multidisciplinary conferences in which complex patient cases are discussed with ample opportunity to learn from other specialists and to learn how to lead multidisciplinary patient case discussions.
