From the Program Director:

Dear applicant,

Thank you so much for your interest in our fellowship program! My primary responsibility as Program Director is the welfare and success of our fellows, and honoring this commitment to our fellows is the most important thing I do in my professional career.

Our program goals are to provide the richest, most effective clinical training and foster innovative educational and scholarship opportunities at Harbor-UCLA and our numerous partner institutions, including Kaiser Permanente and City of Hope. As a former resident and fellow at Harbor, I value the opportunity to care for the medically underserved at a safety net hospital.

I strive to create a supportive environment for our fellows through open communication, over 20 hours of direct contact with our fellows weekly in clinics, conferences, and inpatient rounds, monthly fellowship town halls, and being available 24-7 to all fellow concerns.

James J. Yeh, M.D.
Program Director, Fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center
